Resources SAVED by recycling: recycling is an added value
By working together with our customers, we actively contribute to the preservation of valuable resources and climate protection. The recognized Fraunhofer Institute for Environment, Safety and Energy Technology UMSICHT in regular studies supports the positive effects of the Interzero mission with numbers.
Our annual study “Resources SAVED by recycling” shows how recycling greatly relieves the environment and significantly contributes to the provision of raw materials. The impressive numbers help to explain the benefits of recycling and demonstrate the importance of a circular transformation of the economy. In cooperation with Fraunhofer UMSICHT, we therefore prepare a comprehensive life cycle assessment and accurate estimates of resource savings and greenhouse gas emissions every year.
Only in 2022. In 2011, Interzero managed a total of 2.1 million tons of material in the loop. This has resulted in the prevention of about one million tons of greenhouse gas emissions – the equivalent of annual heat carbon emissions for more than 100,000 households. At the same time, about 8.7 million tons of primary resources were saved.
